Tajikistan is also known as Republic of Tajikistan. Capital of Tajikistan is located at Dushanbe and some of the large cities are Khudzand and Kulyab. Total area is 143,100 sq.km and population is 7,163,506. Languages spoken are Tadzhik and Russian. Currency for exchange is Tajilk Ruble ($1=3.23). Date of Independence for Tajikistan is 9th September, 1991. A former Soviet republic that became independent in 1991, Tajikistan is bordered by Uzbekistan, Kirghizia, China and Afghanistan.
