Kingdom of Belgium or Koninkrijk Bekgie (Dutch) and Royaume de Belgique (French).Belgium capital is at Brussels and some of the large cities are Antwerp and Ghent. Its total area is 30,521 sq.km and population is 10, 364, 388. Languages spoken are Flemish, French and German-all official. Currency for exchange is Euro and it obtained its date of independence on 4th October 1830. Belgium (in NW Europe on North sea) named after the Belgae, people of ancient Gaul who crossed the Rhine about the 6th century B.C. The European Community has its head-quarters in Brussels.
