Azerbaijani Republic is also known as Azerbaijchan Respublikasy. Azerbaijan capital is located at Baku and some of the large cities are Gandja and Sumgait. Its total area is 86,600 sq.km and population is 7,911,974. Languages spoken are Azeri, Turkish and Russian. Azerbaijan obtained its independence on 30th August 1991. Azerbaijani Republic is a former soviet republic with borders on Iran and Turkey.
