Valentine

One legend contends that Valentine was a priest who served during the third century in Rome. When emperor Claudius II decided that single men made better soldiers than those with wives and families, he outlawed marriage for young men. Valentine naturally did not like the idea of the emperor and he continued performing marriages for young lovers in secrecy. For all good deeds there comes an end which exactly happened to Valentine and he was put to death.

Other theory suggets that Valentine was put to death because he was helping christians to escape from harsh punishment from roman prisons.
